Your first tub of whey protein can be small or big, depending on your budget and how sure you are. What matters is that it is a genuine product from a brand you can check, at a price you are comfortable with, in a size you will finish. Below are the first tubs we recommend at Peak X: 10 products in 13 pack sizes, from a small trial pack to a 5 lb tub, each picked for one need.
Every product is a genuine one from a well-known brand. Peak X is an authorized distributor, and we do not stock cheap, low-quality or unverified whey. Every figure comes straight from the product label, and prices update automatically. Want to compare more big tubs? See our best whey protein under Rs. 20,000.
How To Read A Whey Protein Label
Two tubs of the same weight can hold very different amounts of protein, and a low price on the tub does not always mean good value. Check three facts on the label, and you can compare any tub fairly:
For example, a tub with 25 g of protein per serving and 28 servings holds 25 × 28 = 700 g of protein. Divide the price by 700 and you have the cost of each gram. Every pick below shows these numbers, and the cost per gram updates with the live price.
Do not compare tubs by their weight in kilograms alone. A big scoop can mean fewer servings, and some of the powder is not protein. Also read the serving size on the label and use that.
Where the label gives a serving size but not the number of servings, we work it out from the pack weight and mark it as “about”.
Whey Protein Types Explained
Whey is a protein that comes from milk, sold as a powder. The word “whey” can mean different things on the label. Knowing the type helps you compare tubs fairly:
- Whey protein concentrate: the most common type. It is up to about 80% protein by weight, keeps a little more of the natural milk fat, carbohydrate and lactose, and usually costs less.
- Whey protein isolate: filtered further, so about 90% or more of the powder is protein, with less lactose, fat and carbohydrate. It usually costs more per tub.
- Whey blend: a mix of types, for example concentrate with isolate, whey peptides or plain whey powder.
- Whey with other proteins: some products add a non-whey protein such as yeast or soy protein. This is shown in the ingredients list, so read it before you buy.
Studies and reviews have found no clear evidence that one form works differently from the other in the body, so for a first tub, price per gram of protein and your own taste and digestion matter most. Source: Healthline, Whey Protein Isolate vs Concentrate (Grant Tinsley, PhD).
How To Buy A Genuine Tub
Fake and relabelled supplements are a real risk when a price looks too good to be true. Buy from a seller who can show where the stock comes from. Peak X is an authorized distributor for the brands we sell. Whichever shop you buy from, check the seal, the batch number and the expiry date when the tub arrives, and read the allergen notice on the pack. Many whey tubs contain milk, and some list soy lecithin.

Questions and Answers
What is the best whey protein for a beginner in Nepal?
For a first tub, our pick is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey, 2 lb, because it is a brand you can check and it comes in a size you can finish. For the cheapest way to try whey, choose MuscleBlaze Fuel One Impact. The table above shows today’s price and cost per gram for every pack.
Should a beginner buy a small pack or a big tub?
Both are fine, and it depends on your budget and how sure you are. If you are not sure you will like the taste, start with a smaller pack. If your budget allows and you plan to use whey regularly, a big tub (we list five brands above, from Optimum Nutrition and MuscleTech to BiotechUSA, BPI Sports and Big Man) usually costs less per gram, and you buy once.
Is whey concentrate or isolate better for a beginner?
Studies and reviews have found no clear evidence that one works differently from the other in the body. Isolate usually costs more, so for a first tub most people compare price per gram of protein and the flavour.
How do I compare whey protein prices?
Compare the price per gram of protein, not the price of the tub. Multiply protein per serving by the number of servings, then divide the price by that number.
Is cheap whey protein in Nepal genuine?
Peak X is an authorized distributor for the brands we sell, and we only stock genuine products. Whichever shop you buy from, check the seal, batch number and expiry date when the tub arrives, and buy from a seller who can show where the stock comes from.
What if a whey protein is out of stock?
Tubs that are out of stock stay on the list, and their button says Ask on WhatsApp. Message us and we will tell you when it is back, or suggest the closest alternative.
Do you deliver whey protein across Nepal?
Yes. Peak X delivers across Nepal, and you can order on our website or WhatsApp.
